Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion - New Year Giveaway!

Do you suffer from dry skin on your hands and body? If you sleep or work in an air-conditioned environment, then you would understand how uncomfortable it can be. I don't have overly dry hands, but as I work in an air-conditioned office for the most part of the day and then come home to an air-conditioned room at night, my hands and legs had been feeling rather dry of late.

So, when Pete Grimaldi from Skin MD Natural contacted me and offered me some samples of their Shielding Lotion, I jumped at the offer.

Skin MD Natural is a body lotion, but it does not feel like any other regular body lotion that you get off the pharmacy shelf. Instead of merely moisturising, it claims to bond with your skin, so it moisturises AND seals in moisture with an invisible shield. This prevents your skin from drying out.

The sample Pete sent me came in sachets which look like they could be used up in one go. However, the warning on the sachet states that it is NOT to be used in 1 application, but can last for between 3-4 applications. I took them on a test run, and its true. A very little goes a very long way.

The lotion is very viscous and liquid and spreads well and fast. There is no colour nor smell. On application, my hands immediately felt smoother, and the itchy flaking skin on my legs stopped itching. One sachet lasted me about 3 applications as I was pretty generous with it on my hands and legs. I don't know if the shielding properties work, but my hands look smoother lately and moisturised. I'd used about 2 sachets so its been about a week.

I gave a sample to a friend with eczema and it seems to have helped a little (imagine if they had the whole bottle!).

Skin MD Natural is unfortunately only available in the USA. However, Malaysians, take heart for they do offer worldwide shipping for $7.95 and according to the website, if you order 2 bottles or more, the shipping is free! Their price list is here and a 4oz (113ml) bottle costs $25. Alternatively you can order samples by sending them $2.00 or a self-addressed stamped envelope.

In fact, Skin MD is so confident that you'll love the product, they even offer a money back guarantee if you aren't satisfied with it! Now that's confidence for you!

Pete sent me so many samples, I thought I'd do a bit of a New Year giveaway and offer 2 lucky readers 2 sample packs each.

All you have to do is leave me a comment here, telling me how dry skin has plagued you, and if you have a blog, please link back to me at Champagne Tastes on a Beer Budget or Paris Beaverbanks Beauty (if you haven't done so already).

I'll sift through the comments and contact you to get your details to mail you your samples soon.

p/s This is NOT a paid post. Skin MD Natural did not request this giveaway, I proposed it because they were generous with their samples. Just to make it clear :)

Not here to scam your freebies :P Don't mind telling you about my battle with dry skin though.

My arms and legs are the epitome of dry skin; they're snaky, scaly, and then some. It becomes worse everytime I go to Japan, as the weather's a lot drier there. I've tried so many types of lotions and stuff, it's not even funny. I tried the cheapo stuff, like Nivea's Body Milk, Johnson & Johnson's baby lotion, an assortment of body lotions from Boots. I tried The Body Shop's Cocoa Butter for a bit, but I simply cannot tahan the smell.

So right now, I'm using a body lotion from Bruno Vassari, a Spanish salon brand. Love the smell (with natural grape extracts), but not really that good.

Sigh ... I give up *shrug*

PS: Your post just reminded me to put on body lotion. Yep, I'm THAT lazy. Hehe! :P

Haha! Definitely here for d free gift(s?)!

Dry flaky skins are not itchy but my fingers with long nails are. Those tiny skinbreakaways (is that what they r called?) are just so inviting and fun to scratch & pick at .. until err the spot becomes sore and sensitive to liquid/water. Tiny bleeding do occur but itchy fingers never learn soon enough.

Have a happier prettier NY!
