Pete Grimaldi of Gloves in a Bottle contacted me one day to see if I was interested in trying a sample of this revolutionary product for dry skin. Naturally, I said yes, for I am concerned about the condition of my hands especially since I work in an airconditioned office the whole day.
Gloves in a bottle work as a shielding lotion, as opposed to traditional moisturisers. What a shielding lotion does is shield your skin by bonding with the outer layer of the skin, creating a protective barrier to keep irritants out and your own natural oils and moisture in. They don't wash or rub off and just slough off with your dead skin cells.
Its supposed to work very well for those with exceptionally dry skin or those who live in countries with long dry winters which take a toll on your skin. If you have problems with eczema or skin problems this might work to help your skin heal too.
Pete sent me some sachets to try. The lotion has a thin translucent consistency and very little is needed to coat your hands. Once it dries you don't feel any sticky or uncomfortable feeling. It lasts up to about 4 hours, and you don't need to reapply even after you have washed your hands.
I did not notice much the first day. However, after 3 days of continuous use, I did notice that the dry skin around my cuticles and fingertips had vanished, leaving smooth skin in its place. I made sure I did not apply any moisturisers during the test period, so I can be sure its only attributable to this lotion.
You can read some FAQs here as well as see some before and after pictures. Its really good stuff, to my surprise, as we don't hear of this product here in Malaysia at all.
Gloves in a Bottle is now available worldwide, and they ship to you if you don't have a store near you. For Malaysians, your closest bet would be Singapore. Yes, they have a distributor in Singapore. I saw its being distributed in clinics there, which is testament to its use in the medical faculty. If you suffer from dry skin, suffer no longer!
Prices aren't too expensive. A 60ml bottle costs about S$6.50 (RM14.95) and a 240ml bottle is S$24 (RM55.20). It beats spending all that money on moisturers that don't have a long term effect.

It's great to find a product that helps with dry skin. I've had trouble with dry skin too, and was very pleased to learn about Arbonne products.
